3 quinces
6 cups of granulated sugar
a little more than ½ cup water
1 cinnamon stick
10 whole cloves

For the topping:
Maraşım walnut flavored ice cream
Maraşım lemon flavored ice cream

For the quinces:

½ lemon
1 liter water


Peel the quinces, cut them in half and core out the seeds. Pour 1 liter of water and the juice of half a lemon into a bowl. Keep the quinces in the water so that they don’t turn brown. Place the quinces in a saucepan, and add water, sugar, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to maintain a steady simmer; continue cooking until the quinces soften. Place the cooked quinces on a serving platter and pour the cooking syrup over it.After the dessert has cooled, serve a la mode with Maraşım walnut ice cream and Maraşım lemon ice cream.
